Vancouver College vs. GW Graham: A Thrilling Matchup to Kick Off the Regular Season

The highly anticipated varsity football game of the week between Vancouver College and G.W Graham is finally here. This will be the first regular-season game for both of these teams, who also faced each other in the 2022 AAA Championship game, where Vancouver College emerged victorious. The game will take place at the Exhibition Field in Chilliwack, and both teams are expected to bring their A-game.

The Vancouver College team is looking to continue their winning streak after their impressive victory in the championship game. They have been working hard during the offseason to improve their skills and build on the team’s chemistry. With a strong run game and defence, they are ready to take on G.W Graham.

Coach Bryan Chiu returns to the sidelines as head coach looking for his fourth championship in Vancouver College’s purple and gold. Following a successful pre-season, Chiu eagerly awaits their season opener.

“We’re excited to go to their house and face our stiffest competition yet. More than anything, it is our first regular season game. I don’t want the boys to make it more than anything but that because at the end of the day, it’s taking the right steps as a team to get to where we want to be in December.”

Vancouver College is not underestimating the Grizzlies in the slightest and understands that to come out victorious on Friday the team will have to be disciplined and finish every play with high intensity to ensure a victory.

“Any football game will come down to 5-6 plays that’ll determine the outcome and, the interesting thing is you never know when those plays come. What we stress is, we finish every play, and that’s why you’ll never see a boy walk on the field.”

On the other hand, GW Graham is determined to give their best performance in this game. They have been training hard and are excited to showcase their talent on the field. They have a solid team with skilled players looking to make their mark in this game.

Coach Ryk Piche, reporting for his first regular season game as head coach of the Grizzlies, would say, “Vancouver College is a formidable opponent, and we must acknowledge the challenges they present. They are a very talented and well-coached team with a history of success. Facing them will require us to be at the top of our game. We anticipate that they will test our skill, strategy, and discipline in all phases of the game.”

In regards to the Grizzlies’ performances in the pre-season, Piche will look to build on the momentum the program linesmen and receiving core carry into this weekend, “We’ve had some remarkable standout performances this season, particularly from our defensive line and receiving core. As we head into this crucial game, we plan to lean on these playmakers and their exceptional contributions.”

The stage is set for an exciting matchup between two talented teams. Both teams have a lot to prove, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. The fans are eagerly waiting for the game, and the players are ready to give their all.

In conclusion, the Vancouver College vs. GW Graham game is not one to be missed. It will be a thrilling matchup, and both teams are ready to give their best performance. The game promises to be a great start to the regular season, and as Coach Chiu said, “It’s taking the right steps as a team to get to where we want to be in December.”
