3A Senior Girls

St. Michaels, Abbotsford Senior, reigning champs R.A McMath, South Kamloops, and M.E.I make up the top five for the 3A girls.

2022 BC Provincials MVP Marina Radocaj is back for her final Provincials run. McMath is going for a repeat, and they start their run against John Oliver on Wednesday, March 1st.

In November, The SFU women’s team signed a strong recruiting class, including College Heights Rachel Loukes. Loukes, an all-star in the 2022 Provincials, will face off against the Argyle Pipers. The Pipers grade 9 girls’ team captured a provincial title last season, and the seniors are poised to capture a title of their own. Expect a great opening night battle between these two teams.

The 3A tournament will look a lot different from 2022, as teams like Abbotsford and St. Michaels have broken out and could make the push for the finals.

2A Senior Girls

The reigning champions Langley Christian find themselves seeded second in the tournament, surpassed by the 2022 finalists Mulgrave.

Eva Ruse captured the Most Outstanding Defensive Player honours last season and will run it back to help Mulgrave finish the job this year. Ruse’s dominance on the glass and inside will be crucial for the team’s run this season.

The 2022 Championship Player of the Game, Collete Vanderhoven, will be a player to watch for Langley Christian. Her 31-point performance in the championship game lead the lightning to the 2A title.

The 2A tournament is well-rounded and is bound to break brackets, with programs such as Pacific Christian and Holy Cross breaking into the top 5.

Teams such as Notre Dame and St. Thomas Moore have improved since last season and are bound for a deep Provincial Run.

1A Senior Girls

Unity Christian & Credo Christian sit at the top in 1A.

The two finalists dominated the tournament averaging a point differential of over 20.

Last year King’s Christian fell to the Northside Northstars on opening night. The two could  meet again this year in the second round for a rematch.

Teams such as King’s Christian, Northside, and Kelowna Christian are back, posing a tough challenge for any team in front of them.

The 1A senior girl’s tournament will be played in Nanaimo, starting March 1st.
